Welcome to Oak + Ollie! I’m Dominique, though most just call me Dom. I’m a wife, momma, and  design lover. If you were to ask my parents they’d tell you I’ve been bugging them with my shenanigans since I was in elementary school and figured out I was strong enough to start moving my own bedroom furniture around. Once I hit middle school, I was rearranging the entire house and organizing any space I could get my hands on. I allotted my screen time for some casual HGTV, every 13 year old’s dream. It was during college when I realized that maybe someday, I could make my passion a career and eventually share my love for design with those around me. With a degree in Design Management and concentration in Interior Design, I’m equipped to help you during any stage of your design journey, whether it be for your personal or professional spaces.
When I’m not busy rearranging my house or scrolling through Pinterest for endless inspo ideas, you’ll find me in my absolute favorite place – at home with my husband, Billy, and our sons, Cooper and Bodie. If I’m extra lucky, there’s a hot cup of coffee in my hand and I'm baking sourdough! After leaving my career in the kitchen and bath cabinetry industry to become a stay-at-home-mom during my husbands deployment, I realized I needed a creative outlet, as my degree was collecting a little too much dust for my liking. During Billy’s time away, I relied heavily on Pinterest and my favorite interior design accounts, assisted a few family members and friends with home projects, and began navigating what it would take to finally create the business I’ve been dreaming of for as long as I can remember. Fast forward a few months, and I’m finally ready to start the journey of Oak + Ollie.
In college, before we were ever even married, my husband and I would find ourselves daydreaming about the endless possibilities our degrees could someday partner to create. We’d create business plans, floor plans, logos, contracts, the whole shebang - for those who may not know, Billy has a degree in Construction Management and yes, we were relentlessly teased by friends and family about when our HGTV series would someday air. You’ll likely see plenty of Billy’s talents shine through here at Oak + Ollie as well, as he is usually the guy behind the scenes supporting and helping all of my design ideas come to life! You could call him the brains of the operation per se. Just don’t tell him I finally admitted that! You’ll likely see some of his woodworking skills shine through in some projects as well, if we’re lucky and he can spare some time in between his real job and building our dream house... In all seriousness, if it hadn’t been for Billy’s unwavering support of me pursuing a design degree, I’m not sure I’d have ever felt fulfilled with any other career field. I’ve tried other paths, typically in unison with the interior design world, but none of them fully filled my passion of creating personalized spaces and working firsthand with clients, making their dreams come to fruition and being there to see the joy written all over their faces once a project and all of it’s unique pieces come together.
Oak + Ollie already means so much to me and my family, as it has always been the ultimate dream. I’ve poured myself into what I pray this company will someday become for me, for those I love, and for anyone it can someday help. Impactful and personalized design is at the heart of what I do and love the most about being in the interior design industry. There is no greater reward than seeing the smile on a clients face when they finally see a space take shape and serve a purpose for their family or business. At Oak + Ollie, I hope to establish a reputation of making my clients dreams an achievable reality, with their budgets, styles, and opinions at the forefront of my work.
When it comes to designing spaces, I truly believe there is no limit to what is possible! The simplest changes can have huge impacts and I have extremely high hopes for the projects to come at Oak + Ollie. The last year has been a whirlwind for our family while navigating suddenly becoming a stay-at-home-mom to two under 2, a nearly 10 month deployment for my husband, saying goodbye to the house where we made so many dreams come true with hopes to make something greater come to fruition on the other side… There has been plenty of navigating the unknown, plenty of hope, plenty of changes in plans, plenty of growing, and plenty of tears and smiles. To say that I’m ready to help others make their home their favorite place to be is an understatement. I can’t wait to share everything along the way with all of you! Stay tuned for the fun and most importantly, thanks for being here.
Thanks for stopping in!
